Similar to a design-thinking approach, the biggest driver of my process is leading with empathy. This means I spend a lot of time researching and listening for stated and latent user needs, as well as defining the problem and requirements.

Once the problem and requirements are clearly defined, I like to bring a diverse team through an iterative and creative ideation sprint, and then go back and prioritize features to prototype (and eventually test, ship, and measure).

To prioritize sprints and build roadmaps, I like to rank items by thinking about cost and effort versus impact as well as technical dependencies. Throughout this process I like to periodically take a step back and apply frameworks (like SWOT) to look at how the product sits strategically within the context of the competitive market landscape.

To build roadmaps and plan sprints, I sometimes like to lean on frameworks while prioritizing features. The ICE (Impact x Confidence x Ease) scoring method in particular is a favorite of mine as it can be a quick and powerful tool to bring some structure to the product prioritization process, but it's also important to consider technical dependencies throughout this process.

Whilst I'm fluent in design tools like Figma, I prefer to collaborate with designers. I'm happy to design smaller features off an existing design system or breakdown wide scope designs into smaller, actionable items for developers.

One of my superpowers is being able to learn new software tools very quickly, so if you don't see something in my tool kit below, just name it and I'll learn it (quickly!). As a side note, I also have some light experience with prototyping tools for physical products as well as python libraries for building data products.

Whilst I have a sweet spot for the intersection of hardware and software (due to my background in engineering), I have become increasingly interested in a few sectors where I see huge opportunity for both growth and impact. Right now, some of these areas include fem tech, civic tech, HR/workforce/education tech, and climate tech.

When I'm not working with startups you can find me trying new hobbies, hunting down the best desserts in the city, or taking care of my indoor garden (my sunflowers grew to over 8 feet tall!).
